Banjos Direct is an online retailer, but one with a real commitment to providing great quality folk and acoustic instruments at very competitive prices to UK musicians.

All our instruments are quality checked and despatched personally by the Banjos Direct team before despatch to you (nothing goes direct from factory without coming to our workshop first for quality checking and final set-up).

Please note that we never drop-ship: Gold Tone instruments are assembled and finished in Florida USA. Each one is then shipped to us and we check every instrument and do a final finish and set-up before shipping to you.

Everything we sell carries a full one year's warranty. Warranty claims can be made for manufacturer's faults only. Our warranty provides for full examination of any apparent faults occurring in the first 12 months after purchase and correcting of those faults in our workshop. Cost of shipping to our workshop is borne by the customer. If faults cannot be rectified then a replacement instrument may be offered. Wear and tear is taken into consideration when offering a replacement instrument. No responsibility can be taken for damage caused through careless or rough handling, misuse or abuse of any kind, including (but not limited to) damage through heat, damp or impact.

We try to be highly competitive in our pricing and we make a price promise: if you can find an identical make and model instrument with the same specification for a lower total price (including shipping), from a genuine dealer, then we will match that price every time and send you a gift with your purchase to say thank you for helping us.

You might be able to find an instrument that is apparently cheaper to import yourself, and we can't price-match that. But do bear in mind that you have to pay import costs, duties and VAT on top of those prices for instruments you bring into the UK yourself.

We are VAT registered and all prices shown include VAT where applicable. Customers outside the European Union only can order at VAT-free prices. Please see the VAT page for details.

Please note that we reserve the right to alter prices at any time, and the price shown on the website at the time of purchase is the price payable for the particular item. Prices shown on our e-newsletter or other publicity materials may be time-limited or limited to while stocks last. Please check the website for the correct price on any instrument or other product.

Rest assured that any instrument bought from Banjos Direct can be returned (in perfect condition of course) within 31 days of delivery, for a full refund or exchange.

Refunds will be issued following a full inspection of the returned item to ensure that it is in as-sold condition. Refunds may take up to 30 days to complete, in line with current distance selling regulations. Original shipping charges are non-refundable in these circumstances.

If the instrument is has a manufacturer's defect then of course will refund the carriage cost as well.

The above is in addition to your statutory rights.

Under no circumstances can we accept returned goods for refunds later than 31 days after they have been signed for.

Any fraudulent claims for undelivered or deliberately damaged items will be treated seriously and reported to the police. We will always prosecute thieves.

We will deliver to addresses other than the billing address on the credit card but we will not ship to any other address where we suspect that there is a possibility of fraudulent activity.

Any personal details which you give to us when ordering from Banjos Direct are never shared with any third party and are kept under secure conditions. We comply with all UK legislation on personal data.

Please note that instruments are generally priced with case or bag as optional extras i.e. not included in the price of the instrument (there are some exceptions: check the individual product description).
